Interfaith dialogue & the opening of the ‘Ground Zero Mosque’
Today marks the first public to take place at , the controversial Islamic community center in New York City that came to be known as the “Ground Zero Mosque.” Earlier this year at the conference, a Q&A was held with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who was an early supporter of Park51. Rauf and Q founder Gabe Lyons discussed Christian-Muslim history, Sharia Law and how the world’s two largest religions can co-exist and even cooperate in such a contentious time.
A few questions to consider after watching the video:
- What do you make of Rauf’s understanding of Christianity?
- Did you learn anything you didn’t know about Islam?
- What common ground do you see that Christians and Muslims hold?
- What is a Biblical model/method for the future of Christian-Muslim relations?
(This video was produced by and originally appeared on the Q website.)
